Shawna Shriver began her career at Green Pond Country Club in the mid-’90s as a server in the golfers’ pub. Her determination, charisma, and love of events led her to the Banquet Manager role, where she now oversees every aspect of the club’s busy event calendar.
With over 400 events going on every year, Shawna stays busy and is always on the hunt for more opportunities. “There are never enough weekends,” she says.

“The feedback I get all the time is, ‘We didn’t know you were here!’ So, it’s that exposure that’s helpful for us. It helps us draw in some more people who would otherwise not end up on our doorstep.”

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she found creative ways to keep celebrations going by adjusting Green Pond’s menus and moving events outside. What started as a necessity became a lasting success: today, about 75% of Green Pond’s events are buffet-style, a format that saves labor and service costs, while continuing to satisfy guests.
Shawna re-evaluates her event offerings each year, reviewing menus and trends to make sure Green Pond delivers high-quality experiences.
With Shawna leading the charge, the future is bright for Green Pond Country Club. She plans to be even busier by hosting more weekday corporate events to offset the club’s slower periods.
