Great Place for a Wedding — An Eventective User

Went to the tastings for my son's wedding brunch in September 2025, The outdoor setting is beautiful with hudson river in the background and chairs set up on the lawn. Beautiful flowers and landscaping. The venue is just to the right. Everything is on one floor. The food was over the top, so many selections and all so good. Great value for the money. My Marine husband is not with us any more but I am sure he would be so pleased with the place and how affordabe the Wedding Brunch is.

Unique Historic Venue with River View — An Eventective User from Poughkeepsie, NY

The Thayer Hotel is located on the banks of the Hudson River on the grounds of the historic West Point Military Academy. The hotel itself is impressive, with stone facing that will impress your guests upon their arrival. The reception space is fantastic, with the covered patio (for ceremony and/or cocktail hour) atop the hillside looking out onto the river. Your guests will love the stone work all over the hotel, it is truly a spectacular venue. The food is top notch, and the sit down dinner is definitely worth the expense. My favorite was the tomato and heirloom tomato salad. This may sound boring and trivial, but it was delicious. The banquet menu can be tailored to your wants and desires, and all of your guests will find something they will enjoy. Additionally, your guests will appreciate that they can stay right at the hotel, where Presidents and royalty have stayed. The bridal suite is incredible - a corner view of the south and the east facing the river. After the reception is over, you can go to the bar right at the hotel, which is truly a sweet experience for after hours celebration. We were very satisfied with all of the staff members that were involved. Service was impeccable.
