I had set up an event at The Roxy on sunset about three months ago. It was a party for a group that was looking for a venue. I contacted the Roxy because of its location, close the most members of the group that wanted the party set up, and price. Considering the prestige of the location and what it offered: Large stage, a nice big bar, plenty of seating and room to dance, and a crew that was very friendly, the cost was pretty spot on. The Roxy also had a great history that was very attractive to my planning. It has been an established club/bar on sunset for more than twenty years with almost every name band you can think of playing a show there at one point or another. The stage was great for the small band we had come and they loved getting to perform at such a cool place. One of the only issues I had was parking. It is located on the Sunset strip, and while this makes for a fun atmosphere it was difficult to track down a lot that could hold all the cars we were planning on having at the event. Still the Roxy helped advise me on the best place to look and about what to expect as far as charges go for the parking. Also the Roxy only offered drinks, they have no kitchen that can cook food or handle large groups. Catering was not a chore but it would have been nice to get everything locked down at one location. Overall it was a great experience and the party was a huge success, nothing beats stepping outside to Sunset Blvd after a great night of partying.
