I was the maid of honor at my sister's wedding in April 2011 and due to her fiance being deployed, I helped her plan almost the whole wedding. While viewing different venues, we were unsatisfied until we came across the Washington Marriot a Metro Center. Once we saw the ballroom here, we began imagining how it would look decorated for the big event. Without hesitation, my sister began making the proper arrangements for the reservation. The staff was very friendly and the wedding planner at the Marriot was very helpful with many aspects. The planner knew exactly which aspects my sister wanted to have for her military style wedding. While reserving the room, we were also able to book a block of hotel rooms at the same time. This was done at a discounted rate and we were able to book the rooms next to each other. This was very helpful for our out of town guests who were flying in. An aspect that we were both very surprised at was that the Hotel had recommendations for many different lighting specialists. It was hard to choose between the many recommendations, but we ended up settling for the least expensive. The entire staff at the hotel was both extremely helpful and friendly, the planner was beyond amazing. When the guests arrived the day before the wedding, the staff helped them to their rooms and also proposed great ideas for nearby restaurants and diversions. We were all extremely pleased with the Marriot, although being quite pricey. It was definitely worth the price.
