During the summer of 2009, I attended a membership convention for an honor society at the Embassy Suites near the Friendship Heights metro station. The Embassy Suites at Friendship Heights is a great meeting space. There were plenty of conference rooms and open space, and there were screens to guide you about which seminars were taking place in which rooms. The best part was, for a hotel in the middle of an upscale mini-mall, the place was quiet! I loved it. I don't remember the food being great--We ate catered boxed lunches. Although they weren't the best, the food was still better than average. As a venue for a meeting, especially a big meeting with many different seminars, I give the Embassy Suites four stars. The service was excellent. When I first arrived, no one was available to help me find the open seminar space, but once I found it, staff members were always available to guide me and the students who came late. In general, the venue was nice. It was metro-accessible, which was great for both individuals from the area (as they were able to come and go as they pleased), and individuals who weren't from the area (they were able to sight-see in Washington). This is an excellent hotel to use for meetings and conferences. I can imagine though, since it's an Embassy Suites hotel, that it's probably very pricey. There are no complaints from a person who didn't have to pay that price, though. :)
