We had our wedding reception here and it turned out amazing. There was plenty of space to socially distance and we had extra seating for everyone to spread out as much as they wanted so everyone would be comfortable. There was space on the stage for the dj to set up as well as a photo booth location by the front entrance. We had so much fun!!! I ordered royal blue satin fabric for the walls which was so worth it bc it made for a very elegant feel. The AmericanLegion workers helped to set up tables and chairs and take down as well and it was awesome. We had the food catered through the American Legion too and it was really good!! I just wish I had planned for fewer people because we paid by the plate. A lot didn’t show who said they were going to make it and others had to cancel right before, but it all worked out. The only reason I really cared was bc we paid $12/plate. Hind sight is 2020, but it’s ok. Overall though, Steve and Larry were very easy to work with and both stayed later than they had planned on multiple occasions so that we could discuss details as well as decorate the day before. I was SO GRATEFUL FOR THAT!! The other kitchen staff were also very friendly and helpful. I’m very glad that we decided to go here for our reception. If you’re planning for a wedding reception, I would recommend ordering some kind of fabric in your color to cover the walls. I ordered 300 feet of fabric from amazon and didn’t need that much. It came as 5 bolts of 20 yards, but I ended up having left over and could’ve comfortably ordered 4 bolts instead. I went for a swoop effect with the fabric and it turned out nicely it just took a bit to keep everything up on the hooks. The fabric was a game changer and definitely transformed the room. It made it well worth the investment!! The only thing I wish we could’ve added to the day was to bring in outside popcorn with no extra charge. I had gotten a sign and bucket that had a cute saying on it about a popcorn station. The bucket said, “Life is salty, but love is sweet, please take a treat” and the other one was really cute too with a long saying on it. They both matched my card box, but we didn’t end up using them bc there is a $150 charge to bring in outside food. Honestly, though that would’ve been another expense on top of everything else and more work too. So it’s ok that we didn’t use them. I’m going to try to sell them now since we won’t need any of it anymore. Btw, they also have a bar area if that’s your thing but we didn’t have alcohol at our reception. Overall, it was great and made for a wonderful day. Thank you American Legion for letting us use your space!!
