"WE ARE NOT A VENUE, WE ONLY PROVIDE CATERING* The Potluck Café Society grew out of a “youth-at-risk” employment initiative called Binners Dinners held at United We Can in 2000. In 2001, the Portland Hotel offered to build a café on its premises that would be operated by the Potluck Café Society. In February 2022, Potluck moved to its new home at 298 East Hastings Street, equipped with a larger, state-of-the-art kitchen. This facility presents new opportunities and greater capacity for Potluck's future initiatives. Potluck Café Society owns and operates Potluck Café and Catering, a leading social enterprise and Vancouver catering company that serves clients in Vancouver and Burnaby. The mission of Potluck Café Society is to transform lives by providing employment and hands-on training to members of the community who face barriers to traditional employment, and providing healthy, nutritious food for people living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
