"fairy tale wedding". It was a beautiful! The staff at Glendalough was very helpful. Glendalough Manor is an exceptionally beautiful facility. The grounds and ballroom are stunning. The wedding day was absolutely perfect and beautiful thanks to Jennifer and the entire Glendalough staff. From the very first moment we walked in the office, and meetings with vendors, everything was just so smooth. The ceremony was beautiful, the reception exceeded my expectations. The guests are still talking about how good the food was. Jennifer was excellent, always so helpful and willing to answer all of the bride and grooms questions. I will not hesitate to recommend Glendalough to every couple. They will love it. Every detail, from beginning to end, was perfectly executed and truly came alive on the actual wedding day! Each and every staff member was professional, played a part, and made it possible to coordinate and plan a dream wedding
Glendalough Manor is a little south of Atlanta in a town called Tyrone. It has 17 acres of beautiful gardens that will give you that feeling of peace and tranquility. You can just relax and take in all that beauty. Tyrone was home to the Irish railroad workers and to keep the Irish heritage going it name the place Glendalough that came from Gleann Da locha meaning "The valley of two lakes." Your wedding event comes with an all-inclusive package that allows you to customize every detail until it is right for you or the well trained staff and culinary cooks will help you put your package together. You can choose to have a buffet style banquet of a prepared meal brought to each table. You can choose what colors are in your wedding so that the wedding area can be decorated accordingly. There are many areas to hold the wedding and reception. If you want the wedding to be outside then The Pergola is where your ceremony will take place and there is are waterfalls and a pond. You will have to rent a tent for any outside event. Then the reception will be held in St. Kevin's Garden on the lawn surrounded by the beauty of the surrounding gardens. If you want the wedding and reception inside then there are a few rooms to have your wedding and reception in. There is the Avondale Ballroom, The Wicklow Ballroom and for small weddings and receptions there is the Wellington. This place is an excellent site for an outside wedding when all the flowers are in bloom.
Glendalough Manor is one of the most beautiful venues in the metro area. Whoever designed did a great job. I've photographed a couple of weddings there. If you're considering Glendalough keep these things in mind. They photograph up to 4 weddings on a busy summer day so keep that in mind if you want to feel like it's your day. That can cause a bit of confustion for guests if they come too early/late or wander into the wrong ballroom. It also leaves room for comparison of your wedding to someone elses. You're assigned a coordinator and I haven't met a bad one yet. They run a strict timeline since they have several weddings to juggle. It's fine but you cannot be late. Seriously. I've seen brides upset because they didn't get enough time to take portraits on the grounds. But they were late so they really can't get too mad. The coordinators will do the best they can to accomodate you but they won't infringe upon another bride's time. Other than that, they really do treat their brides well, They have one the largest dressing rooms (2 actually) I've seen. So there's plenty of room for you, your bridesmaids, mua, hairdressers, photographers, videographers, assistants. There's a nice floor mirror so you can see yourself full length in your gown. When you arrive in your dressing room, there will be snacks, water & soda waiting for you. And after the ceremony, you, your party and family will go to the back while your guests are escorted inside. They will also have hor d'houerves for you will the area clears out so you can start your portraits.
The best thing about this venue, is that when you book the time for your event they automatically include a wedding planner in the price. This makes it extremely helpful for someone like me who had no idea how to plan a wedding. It is basically hassle free and the price is beyond reasonable since it's a little south of Atlanta. They do their own catering and it was beyond good. They have a few different ballrooms and outside facilities that work for almost any size group. It was a fairy tale. The staff really goes above and beyond the call of duty. They have an extensive vendor list, which really takes all the work off the bride. They also handle the direct payments to the vendors and allow you to make monthly payments to them online. The website had plenty of pricing and option lists, I knew exactly what I wanted before I even made the first phone call. It really is a wonderful place to have an extremely beautiful, stress free wedding. Especially since I am not drowning in wedding debt!
