When you're riding down from a distant city, the Apple Shed is the greatest road stop to visit. They have all kinds of dishes. But be wary that they don't serve ribs after 1 pm. The driving to the Apple Shed from a close highway can be confusing. But once you get there, it's a fine atmosphere. This place has always been a regular stop for me. The food is great. The time to wait is a bit long. But half of the room is dedicated to fudge and souvenirs. They sell a wide variety of fudge and let you taste before you buy, but you don't have to buy the fudge just to get a free snack. The little gift shop has nice little trinkets and that sort. My younger sister was amazed that they sold a rare stuffed animal. Browsing their little collection is fine but if you don't prefer to stand up have a look around. They have all sorts of do-dads and artistic pieces on the wall. They have a little toy train overhead. Its part of the fact that the apple shed is located next to the Tehachapi loop, which is a really large train loop. Now the foods great, I tried my first ribs in the Apple shed and I always get ribs when I go to the apple shed. If only they served ribs throughout the entire day not just during some time in the day. The bottom lines is, if you're tired from a long drive, come up and see this place.
