Walking and leading llamas or alpacas is a magical experience. Minimum two adults. We begin with an introduction to the participants and their customs. Leading a llama or alpaca through parkland trails, you will be able to ask questions and admire the beautiful scenery.

We invite you to handfeed the 40 llamas and alpacas which is great fun! Our carrot and apple exchange is available: you bring whole carrots and/or apples and we provide you with a pail already chopped and sliced for the best feeding experience for all. Or you may purchase some ready prepared @ $5/pail.
The Llama Sanctuary is a non-profit organization, relying on the support of our visitors. We ask you to make your entrance donation at the end of the tour. High season July-August $20/$10
Light refreshments will be available for purchase and The Great Little Llama Shop will also be open for you to browse. Recently opened is the Sanctuary Thrift Store with books galore and other items.
Footwear: Please, Please, Please! wear sturdy outdoor shoes. We are still in the early stages of setting up, so there is uneven ground and things may be lurking in the grass, waiting to stub or stab a toe! For visitors with mobility issues, the hard standing curtilage provides a comfortable opportunity to interact with the llamas and alpacas.
Children: Please keep little children close by at all times, unless invited by the guide to come forward for a special experience. The llamas love children but chasing or running toward the llamas may frighten them and cause them to act unpredictably. The safety of all little visitors is paramount as we endeavour to provide a fun and meaningful experience for them.
Indemnity: By entering The Llama Sanctuary gates, all visitors confirm that you have read this information and agree to hold The Llama Sanctuary Society and The Eco-Park, Tappen, their agents, staff and assigns free of any liability for loss or harm, no matter the cause and nature of injury or loss, including negligence. Animal behaviour can be unpredictable and the outdoor environment comes with the potential danger and hazards you might encounter on any hike.
Follow the llamas through their snow covered trails or walk, snow shoe or ski. the Raceway and congregate with them in Tootoosis Nook. Enjoy the luscious mug of REAL organic, vegan chocolate and marshmallow, with story telling of our llama and wilderness adventures by campfire. Toddlers no charge. 4-16 and 70+ $37.
