The past few months have been Wedding Season amongst our friends and family! My husband and I were recently invited to the wedding of dear friends who live in Seattle. I miss Seattle SO much, having lived there in the 1980s and I was thrilled they'd chosen the Sorrento Hotel in which to get married. This is a beautiful, smallish hotel that is quite old...about 100 years or so...and has been loving cared for all those years. There is nothing shabby about this place at all! It's Class with a capital "C" ALL the way! They were married in Sorrento's Top of the Town Ballroom which has spectacular views of the city. Since they had their ceremony at night, the city just sparkled for them! The Sorrento bills itself as Seattle's most romantic hotel and they aren't kidding! Our friends told us the staff was exemplary in everything...from the food for the reception to helping them plan how to stage the ceremony. We splurged and booked a room and LOVED it. The happy couple also had booked a room so they'd have a place to get dressed and rest, as well as spend their first night as a married couple. They left for Europe the next morning but I doubt they'll find as pretty a hotel as the Sorrento in all of Europe.
