I planned our company's marketing meeting. We are based out of Central Phoenix, but wanted an upscale location, which we found in Scottsdale. I had been to the W Hotel for a different event, really liked it. The W is a swanky, upscale, very modern hotel. They have a great pool area that also holds events, but ours was a meeting, so we used one of their many meeting rooms. We all had our laptops, so having access to Wi-Fi was a must, which was no problem there. We also needed some audio and video equipment, which they had ready for us, and the tech guy was super friendly, and helped us get our equipment set up with theirs. Our meeting was an all-day event, so we also had a lunch served. The menu had a pretty good selection. The downfall is that it is really expensive. It was our year end meeting, so we had the rest of our budget to use up, so it's not for those that are on a tight budget. Meals easily can be more than $50 a person. That being said, I had a penne pasta dish with a side Caesar salad, both were really good. A favorite among most employees was a salmon dish. It was served right when we needed it, and was an easy transition for us from our meeting to our meal. The staff was really nice, and was able to accommodate a couple of last minute changes we had. The meeting went very smoothly, and was a nice change from our normal meetings. As long as you have the budget for it, I'd recommend it for future meetings.
