We found Ragged Point Inn while we were driving from Los Angeles to a friend's wedding in San Francisco. We pointedly took the Pacific Coast Highway because we were scouting for our own wedding location. It was very important to us that we be able to see the ocean from the place we got married, and Ragged Point has an absolutely stunning view. It is located on a point that juts out from the coast by a couple hundred feet, but the drop to the ocean is indeed a Ragged one and at least two thousand feet! They have a lovely lawn and gazebo for ceremonies and there is a solarium with one whole wall open to the ocean (it does close up in the event of inclement weather). The on-site wedding planning was extremely very organized and intelligent and helpful; the location sells itself so she does not have a "salesman" approach at all. She referred several vendors for us and was very frank about the advantages and disadvantages of Ragged Point Inn. The price was very reasonable compared to other locations we looked at. The one thing that might pose a problem for many couples is that it is several hours' drive (at least 3) from the nearest major airport, which is San Jose International. Nevertheless, we put our relative through the drive because Ragged Point Inn is just, well, magical! We had an amazing wedding in 2008 and I have recommended the location to many people since.
