My brother and his wife wanted their wedding reception to be in a grand location that held a strong line of history. Because she is from San Francisco, she could not think of a better place than The St. Francis Westin Hotel in San Francisco. It is located right in the center of Union Square and the oldest building in the square because it withstood the earthquake. Because of its sturdiness, the inside of St. Francis remains old, but classy. The grand ballroom has a warm, early 1900s feel and it is just marvelous. It feels like you are have moved backward in time and entered a theatre from that time period. The decor is subtle but magnificent. One of the main photo opportunities was in front of the grandfather clock, which is quite famous. Aside from the historical strength of the St. Francis Hotel, it is an absolutely brilliantly laid out hotel. The rooms are spacious and grand. There was plenty of room for the guests in the ballroom and the tables were displayed in a very elegant style. The staff was extremely helpful, as they are very accustomed to having similar events on the premise. They provided us with catering options that perfectly suited what we were looking for. My sister-in-law is very picky when it comes to planning and executing such events as her very own wedding. She was so pleasantly surprised with this venue and recommends it to many of her childhood friends who are seeking a similar venue for their wedding. It was terrific!
