Mochica is a family owned restaurant located in the heart of Potrero Hill. It originally opened late in 2003 in the SOMA district under the direction of Chef/Owner Carlos Altamirano and his wife Shu. The cozy 40 seat restaurant thrived for over a decade at this location. Now, with twice the seating capacity and a full liquor license, Mochica is poised to reach an even greater audience with it's well crafted, artisanal food and cocktail program. Chef Altamirano's contemporary Peruvian menu incorporates locally sourced, sustainable produce, meats, and seafood. Time honored traditional recipes are treated to Chef Altamirano's visionary twists to create dishes that are fresh and unique. Along with it's sister neighborhood restaurant, Piqueos, in Bernal Heights, the majestic destination restaurant, La Costanera, in Montara, and a small fleet of Sanguchon food trucks, Mochica is another brilliant offering from the husband and wife team of Carlos & Shu, and their mission is to provide you with a truly unforgettable dining experience.
