We celebrated my parents’ 65th wedding anniversary at The Salem Convention Center. Sarah V. and her team were amazing to work with and made planning and executing so easy! Thank you, Sarah and team!!
The party was a huge success and it couldn’t have been done without the amazing help of the event coordinator Sarah and all of the staff at the convention center. Thank you all so much!
The OPA (poetry) conference was held at the Salem Convention Center in mid- September. The staff was very helpful, changing anything that was set up incorrectly quickly. The food from the restaurant was excellent, and plenty of it. Water was constantly refreshed. Coffee and tea, not quite as well. The audio system worked well. Thanks to all for making our event a success.
A few days after Hurricane Katrina I got the idea to hold a quilt-a-thon in my community in order to send a little love to our fellow Americans in the south. It would be a huge endeavor requiring a large space. But where? When I approached Salem Conference Center they barely hesitated before agreeing to donate an entire weekend for the event. For three full days a few weeks later over 200 people gathered to work together on this huge community project. The Conference Center graciously provided for all of our electrical needs in a giant room. The sewing machines, cutting tables and irons were set up and we went to work. In the end over a hundred quilts were transported to Louisiana and Mississippi and the folks of Salem, Oregon felt like they had sent a little comfort to their neighbors in the south. Had it not been for Salem Conference Center's amazing generosity the project never could have been accomplished.
