Each year, I host a retreat and awards banquet for 75 to 100 guests, and finding an elegant facility that doesn't break the budget can be difficult. The Samoset was able to accommodate my needs within my budget guidelines. From the delicious buffet-style meals with customized, themed menus to the outstanding guest rooms, my attendees were well cared for and I was able to enjoy my event knowing that the staff at the Samoset had everything under control. My only "complaint" was the temperature of the main meeting room, but it was an exceptionally cold weekend in Maine in January, and the staff made every effort to adjust the temperature to meet our needs. My guests loved that every room had a view of the ocean, and that they were treated to luxury accommodations (the norm at the Samoset). They also enjoyed having an on-site lounge to visit during free time, and no one had to leave the facility for entertainment or activities. I was delighted by the professionalism of the staff, and their attentiveness to our needs. The event was such a success that we will be returning to the Samoset in 2007.
