A few weekends ago I attended my best friend's wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding and reception at Valhalla Vineyard. Valhalla Vineyard is a gorgeous vineyard located in Roanoke Virginia. Whether you are planning a wedding, corporate event, or just want to get away, Valhalla Vineyard is the place to visit. Valhalla Vineyards has been growing grapes since 1998. They have over 20 acres of vineyard and produce many different wines including cabernet sauvignon, syrah, merlot, chardonnay, cab franc, and more. They compare themselves with the Rhone Valley of France because of their decomposing granite soils and unique climate. A unique underground cellar is on the property and can be toured. It is cave-like and quite interesting. Also on the estate is a beautiful tasting room, The Cellar Door. The Cellar Door can fit 100 guests for cocktail style, 60 guests for sit-down dinner service, or 150 guests inside-outside. With a fireplace and cathedral ceilings, the atmosphere is relaxing and comforting. It would be perfect for a romantic trip or a family reunion. They also offer tent rentals, table rentals, and have a fully prepped kitchen for your caterer. They also feature monthly bands, dances, and give tours of the vineyard daily. The vineyard is situated on top of a mountain in the Roanoke Valley and overlooks the Valley, which goes on for miles and miles.
