DIY wedding venue - An Eventective User from Ames Iowa

We booked sight unseen-we lived in the Blacksburg area previously but had moved to Iowa so we had the fun task of booking our wedding venue without actually seeing it. The layout worked for our small wedding-it would have been nice if there were more photos available online to view first just to help get a better idea of the layout. The director was prompt in answering questions via email although I never actually met her in person. There were a few small snags with outlets that didn’t work, or were wired to light switches in ways that weren’t very clear, etc and a corner of the reception room is occupied by an odd “tiki hut” type structure that isn’t useable and kind of takes up room that could be used for seating. Overall it worked out well, the guy who was on hand to answer questions was helpful and with a lot of DIY it turned out quite lovely.
