Woodlawn is a lovely site for weddings, where intimacy and privacy reign. Wedding guests are treated to the magic of a 400 year old property where, on occasion, even the century seems uncertain. Time has always been the most elusive of vectors to grasp, and a wedding at Woodlawn assures both couples and their guests that it can, in fact, stand still. Children can dodge in and out of hundred year old boxwoods and run the lawns with abandon, parents willing. Privacy is a hallmark of Woodlawn, as the Manor House is sited on Calvert Creek at the end of a mile long driveway. The arrival to the house is magical, with the Creek, the Potomac River and the distant shoreline of Virginia as a backdrop to an understated elegance.
