This restored Antebellum style house was built in 1853. Also, known as the Bernard’s Landing clubhouse to homeowners & vacationers, it offers over 5,200 square feet of covered as well as open space with magnificent views of the mountains and lake. Restrooms are located on the 2nd floor of The Bernard House. Included in this venue is your choice of the Wedding Pergola, Bernard Beach or Wedding Garden Lawn which is adjacent to The Bernard House & Pavilion. The Pavilion Our newly remodeled pavilion will accommodate 250 guests. The Pavilion includes two large spaces for your wedding reception, dancing & enjoying the company of family and friends. The Sun Deck The Sun Deck is adjacent to our Olympic size swimming pool. Its dimensions are 45' x 50' The Compass Deck The Compass Deck is a large deck with an additional half moon deck adjacent to the clubhouse deck & Olympic size pool. Its dimensions are 36' x 53' on the squared section of the deck & 16' x 33' on the rounded section of deck. The Bridal Room The Bridal Room is located on the first floor of The Bernard House. The Bridal Room is a private area, which serves as a dressing room & staging area for the bridal party. Use of this room is complimentary when booking The Bernard House & Pavilion for your wedding. The Club Room & Library The Club Room is located on the second floor of The Bernard House. It is used as the dressing room & staging area for the Groom & Groomsmen. Bathrooms are located in the Club Room as well. The Library, which is located across the hall from the Club Room can also be used as a dressing room if needed.

The Highlands Event Center features four event areas which will accommodate up to 120 guests and allow you to choose just the right size and setting for your group. The Smith Mountain Room The Smith Mountain Room is our largest indoor meeting space with 1,302 square feet of space. It can be divided into two sections (A & B) for smaller groups or breakout sessions. The Glass Atrium Located just outside the Smith Mountain Room, the glass atrium is the perfect place for receptions, meals or hospitality. The atrium overlooks the pool and offers a stunning all-season view of Smith Mountain Lake. The Highlands Event Center Deck The Highlands Event Center Deck is a special place for dinners, luncheons, receptions and celebrations from early Spring into late Fall. Your guests will enjoy an exceptional view of the lake and its backdrop of majestic mountains. The deck can be tented in the event of inclement weather.

THE WEDDING PERGOLA The Wedding Pergola has fabulous views of the mountains, Bernard's Beach and Sailor's Cove. It is the perfect setting for your special day. The adjacent lawn is a wonderful location for your guests to sit and relax as you exchange vows. This space accommodates up to *250 guests *Rental fee includes use of the Wedding Pergola and adjacent grounds, The Wedding Pergola can easily be decorated to coordinate with the theme of your wedding. Tables, chairs, etc are not provided by Bernard's Landing. BERNARD'S BEACH A rolling lawn leads to a sandy beach near Sailor's Cove. Bernard's Beach has wonderful views and beautiful sunsets. It is the perfect setting for your wedding. WEDDING GARDEN Set back from the beach, the Wedding Garden offers a beautifully landscaped sanctuary for wedding party and guests. It provides a spectacular view of Sailor's Cove and the surrounding mountains. The Wedding Garden is the perfect place to start your new lives.
