Facilities and Capacity Drumore Estate includes a number of indoor and outdoor venue options for your upcoming event needs. The Estate’s gardens are an attractive location for an outdoor ceremony or team building exercise. Designed by our master gardener, they include lovely fountains and impressive statuary situated on the 2nd highest peak in Lancaster County which make for truly unique scenic views. Our Grand Tent can accommodate up to 220 guests, with drop-down sides that offer protection against inclement weather. Additional tents can be assembled on our lawns to accommodate larger events. The Orangery is an ideal space for more smaller groups or intimate events. The floor is comprised of bright wood and Italian marble, so that it can also function as a separate dance hall. The Carriage House seats as many as 200 guests. It offers event lighting and sound equipment for all your entertainment needs. Our gardens, designed by a Longwood Gardens master gardener, are the ideal site for your wedding ceremony. Our Formal Garden—situated on one of the highest points in Lancaster County—displays a beautiful water feature and a stunning view overlooking the rolling river valley. Numerous other gardens and quaint seating areas afford the opportunity for people to gather, drinks to be served, and photos to be taken. The Drumore Estate mansion was built by John F. Steinman, a Lancaster newspaper magnate, in 1938. The 16,000 square-foot home was modeled after the opulent design and smooth symmetry of Georgian architecture often found in 18th Century Britain. Every detail of the mansion was remarkably attended to – down to the patented wrought-iron detailing on the exterior—which has inspired our Drumore Estate logo. This country estate was built specifically for entertaining—with its open spaces, quaint alcoves, grand staircase, dazzling chandeliers and warm ambiance—making it ideal for all manner of social gatherings.
