Built in 1951, our farmhouse and its 1 acre land feels like an orchard in the middle of Palo Alto. Despite being walking distance from Rivian, Tesla, HP, and Stanford, Barron Park area was primarily used for farming and ranching in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Barron Park resisted annexation to Palo Alto to preserve its semi-rural character before finally being incorporated into Palo Alto in 1975. Matadero Avenue is near several local parks, including Bol Park, which offers recreational opportunities and is known for its donkeys, Perry and Jenny. Matadero Creek: The street runs parallel to Matadero Creek, which is a natural feature in the area. Efforts to preserve and enhance the creekâs natural state have been part of local environmental initiatives.
