Pleasant Home is considered one of the earliest and most distinguished examples of Prairie School Architecture in the nation. The home is open to the public and offers a year-round schedule of educational programs, community events and festivals and cultural performances.
Designed by architect George W. Maher in 1897, the home is a perfect setting for corporate or social retreats, meetings, seminars, or receptions. Several smaller rooms are available for break-out sessions, and the expansive, covered front porch can seat up to 80 people banquet style, or 125 people theatre style.
Pleasant Home is operated by the Pleasant Home Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and operation of this National Historic Landmark.
