Special Event Rental Fee Schedule for Dining Hall
1. The rental rate for use of the dining hall (which includes Tables, Basic Folding Chairs, personalized ambient lighting, and a monitor) is $250.00 per hour with a minimum rental of three hours is required. The rate increases to $275.00 per hour after eleven pm.
2. 60 minutes before and after the event will be allowed at no charge for set-up and clean-up. Additional setup time may be available at a rate of $50.00 per hour. Other arrangements can be made and these will be noted in the Temple_ Special_Event_Usage_Agreement.pdf
3. A security deposit of at least 20% of total Event Rental cost is required for any use of the building.

5. Alcohol during the event: The Masonic Temple Corporation of Norfolk does not provide an ABC license for alcohol consumption. An event permit can be requested via the following Virginia ABC website https://www.abc.virginia.gov/licenses/get-a-license/banquet-licenses. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain this permit. Be sure to submit the permit application at least 2 weeks before the date of the event.
6. Payment of all security deposits is required when the agreement is signed and accepted and must be paid by CASH, CHECK, or MONEY ORDER. All security deposit checks will be cashed upon receipt.
7. If Payment is made in the form of a credit card, the Norfolk Masonic Temple will add a 3% credit card processing fee in order to cover the credit card point of sale fees.
8. The remainder of the usage agreement fees is due no later than 21 days prior to the scheduled event date. Not applicable for short notice rentals.
9. Clean-up must be completed, and all persons must leave the building by the end of the scheduled rental time to avoid overtime rental charges.
10. Admin fee of $400 includes custodian and garbage fees.
11. An overtime fee of $50.00 will be charged for every fifteen (15) minutes the applicant remains in the building after the agreed upon departure time and will be deducted from the applicant’s security deposits.
12. Cancellation policy:
a. If the applicant cancels the event 60 days or more prior to the event date, all deposits will be returned minus a $50.00 administration fee.
b. If the applicant cancels the event less than 60 days prior to the event date, all usage fees will be returned but all deposits will be forfeited; however, if the hall is subsequently rented on the requested date, the deposits will be returned minus a $50.00 administration fee.
c. If the Masonic Temple Corporation of Norfolk has to cancel the event due to unforeseen emergency which causes the closure of the Temple building the applicant will be refunded 100% of the already paid fees.
13. Insurance: Renter is required to provide insurance for their hosted event.
14. ABSOLUTELY no lewd performances, pyrotechnics, open flames, drugs or weapons (except those in the possession of the hired security personnel) are allowed within the building or any of the grounds. No animals (other than licensed service animals)
Our beautiful auditorium is classic and can accommodate so many types of events. It has 425 permanent seat with capacity of up to 900 in our auditorium. You can host your pre-reception cocktail hour, or a sporting event, comedian, church, play, fashion show, family reunion, skits, graduation (the list can go on and on). The cost ranges from $150 (pre-reception cocktail hour), to $250 an hour for 2-6 hours or $1900 for an entire day.

Rent one of our beautiful ceremony rooms for your wedding ceremony, celebration of life or retirement. You may choose from the Scottish Rite, Eastern Star or Amaranth Rooms (largest to smallest). If you rent the room with your reception the cost is $375 or if only the ceremony, the cost is $425.

You may rent the dining hall, depending on the size of the event from $175 - $250 an hour (this includes dining hall, entry way, restrooms, coat room, tables (round or rectangle) and chairs, up lighting, rolling bar, bandstand (DJ), Riser for the bride / groom (wedding party) table(s), and 1 staff member. There is one additional charge of $400 for admin to cover housekeeping and garbage removal.
