From the elegant intimacy of hosting a romantic micro-wedding of 20 to a lavish 200-guest reception, we will be there to anticipate your every need. The Chanler represents timeless elegance in Newport, which is why our weddings are highly coveted events. The historic mansion setting and dramatic ocean views of our property are the perfect backdrop for a picturesque, breathtaking wedding that you will remember for a lifetime. For your planning purposes, kindly note that for weddings and events a Terrace or Tented Mansion Exclusive is required at The Chanler. The ceremony and cocktails could take place on the sprawling Meadow Lawn with views of the Atlantic Ocean or on the picturesque Cliff Walk Lawn followed by cocktails. Once your guests are ready for dinner they will dine on the terrace or under a tent on the Cliff Lawn overlooking the Cliff Walk. Our beautiful terrace provides your guests with the feel of al fresco dining with open windows and a high ceiling. After dinner, your guests will move inside the mansion for amplified late night entertainment and dancing. The Chanler has to comply with a noise ordinance which does not allow for amplified music after 6pm. Therefore your guests may enjoy unamplified music during dinner before moving inside the mansion for amplified late night music and dancing with a full band or DJ. The Chanler is a very intimate property with 20 luxury guest rooms and the event space is intertwined with the mansion, utilizing the restaurant venues for social events with entertainment, so we do require a buyout of the hotel rooms for a two night minimum in conjunction with a wedding event. The mansion truly becomes a luxurious retreat for your friends and family.
