Sit at one of the vintage, cafeteria-style communal tables with swivel seats and you’ll be joined by an eclectic mix of families, students, freelancers and interesting characters taking advantage of the free wi-fi and affordable food available in the cafe. Our friendly baristas will serve you fair-trade organic French press coffee and espresso from Brooklyn Roasting Company, organic loose leaf tea from Miss Tea, all natural, cold-pressed Red Jacket juices, or a fine selection of wine and craft beers. The intimate Speakeasy-vibe downstairs at Silvana is a unique addition to the Frederick Douglass Boulevard corridor. On any given night you can enjoy the music of 3-4 world class musical acts and then dance the night away to the sounds of a DJ. The cabaret-style tables near the stage are decorated with pictures that invoke the spirit of the sights, sounds and smells of a Middle Eastern Market. Towards the back you’ll find Moroccan-style tray tables surrounded by long benches and low stools, making it the perfect place to share a few plates and drinks with old friends or get to know a new date.
