Klingenstein Library, the second floor accommodates receptions for up to 600 guests.

The stunning Gallery of Tiffany Lamps is an immersive display of 100 illuminated Tiffany lamps from New-York Historical’s world-class collection. Guests explore the two levels of dramatically-lit space, which are connected by a glowing glass staircase. When the Gallery is rented along with adjacent spaces, the fourth floor holds up to 600 guests.

A spectacular setting for your special occasion, the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library boasts neoclassical architecture and soaring, 50-foot ceilings. Magnificent stained-glass windows—gifted to New-York Historical in 1908—create a dramatic backdrop for luncheons, receptions, dinners, performances, and presentations. When the Library is rented along with nearby Dexter Hall, the second floor accommodates receptions for up to 600 guests.

The Robert H. and Clarice Smith Gallery strikes a perfect balance between the classical and the contemporary. Located right off of our grand, vaulted entrance on Central Park West, the Gallery is ideal for registration, breaks, and cocktail receptions. Its six columns feature customizable digital monitors, in addition to a brandable display wall that provides a striking welcome space for arrivals. Whether the space is used solely for a reception, or in conjunction with a program or seated dinner, guests enjoy an exclusive, private event amid priceless artifacts and art from our exhibitions and collections.

The sleek, modern auditorium, with its curved architectural design, retains the charm of an intimate theater experience while offering state-of-the-art theatrical equipment. It's a perfect venue for film screenings, upfronts, concerts, TED-style talks, and panel discussions. Our in-house AV team provides extensive complimentary support, including lighting, sound, and video projection. Additional services, if necessary, are sourced through our approved vendors.
