Located at Pier 60 in New York City, the Lighthouse at Chelsea piers is a truly incredibly place to tie the knot to that special someone in your life. It has one of the most spectacular views of New York and the Hudson River that I have ever seen, and the staff are professionals who will make sure that your event goes smoothly. The venue is enormous; we had over five hundred people at our wedding and everyone was able to fit comfortably. Even the dance floor can fit four hundred people! While it might be a little on the expensive side, it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience in one of the most beautiful parts of New York City. I personally am very glad that we chose to have our wedding there. The whole experience is something that will stand out in my memory for the rest of my life, and started off my marriage in a way I could never possibly forget. The decorations inside the building were beautiful and very very nice, and brought a nice ambiance to our wedding. There is also an outdoor section, so guests are free to enjoy different kinds of atmospheres and choose where they would like to spend their time… and the staff! The service people were so kind, warm, and welcoming, I felt so at ease! I am so glad I made the decision to go there, it is something that my friends and family will definitely be talking about for a long, long time.
I had my wedding here in August of last year. I chose Sunset Terrace because it was the most affordable venue in Manhattan. I was blown away when I visited the space and saw the view. One entire wall of the room is glass doors that open to a small balcony on the Hudson. The room is large with a built in bar on the center wall. There was plenty of space for a DJ, 10 tables, food buffets and dancing for our 100 guests. We selected to have both the ceremony and reception here. The staff worked quickly to transform the room after the ceremony. The food is catered by Jason's Catering and you are required to use them. This shouldn't be an issue because their food was delicious. They also allow you to do a tasting. You have an onsite event coordinator the day of the wedding who works for Sunset Terrace, but is there to help you. The only cons to the venue were the lack of air conditioning and the fact that you have to walk passed an ice skating rink to get to the event room. Once you are in the room, you quickly forget about the rink. We were told they do have plans to get air conditioning, so it is possible they already have it. Even in August, the room temperature was comfortable, and if anyone gets too hot they can always stroll by the ice rink. If you are looking to have a loft style wedding with great food at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend Sunset Terrace.
The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers is the perfect place to get married if you have to money or if you want to have a wedding that can be memorable for whole life. It was my first cousin's wedding during spring last year, it was such a beautiful place. From my memory this place was so beautiful that when i get married i would like to get married there. And if i were you i would not think twice about having a wedding here. Jeff and the entire staff were amazing from start to finish and we got tons of compliments on how nice everything was. The service was flawless, the food was really good, the room and the view were beautiful, and we truly appreciated all the extra special little touches they did for us throughout the day. And The venue is beautiful on the Hudson River, with a view to the Jersey skyline and even down to the Statue of Liberty. My cousin walked down the aisle at sunset. It was absolutely gorgeous. Floor to ceiling windows facing the Hudson river. Dark mahogany wood floors. Romantic suspended candles above the dance floor. This is one of my favorite wedding venues in New York.
We had a wonderful experience with the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. Having your wedding there is not cheap, but it was honestly worth every penny. All of our friends and family said it was the best wedding -- or indeed, any event -- they had ever been to (and I think they were being serious). The venue is beautiful -- on the Hudson River, with a view to the Jersey skyline (which is prettier than I might have thought) and even down to the Statue of Liberty. The space itself has an unfinished/industrial yet elegant look that we really liked. The food is great. There are no tastings, but there are so many choices that had us drooling just reading the descriptions. The sheer amount of food bordered on ridiculous (in a good way). The beef entree was the best beef I have had in years. Just some of the many many delicious things we ate were: lobster and corn salad with a corn souffle, bbq chicken macaroni bites, mini blt's, s'mores cupcakes, mojito granita intermezzos, chocolate covered bacon...I need to stop now because I am getting too hungry. The best part though was our banquet manager, Bob. He was fantastic. He kept the night running smoothly. He also made sure that my husband and I had time to eat and were well looked after. It basically felt like we didn't have to worry about anything.
How glad we are that we had our wedding at Sunset Terrace. We only had two weeks to plan our wedding and I had many doubts. Although our Event Coordinator assured me that our small number of guests and the size of the space will work well - I had my reservations. After leaving his office, I immediately remembered everything we hadn\'t discussed. To my surprise, Sunset Terrace took care of it! When we arrived that day, everything was in place exactly how I envisioned. The room looked beautiful, the bar was decorated and the tables were set up precisely how I wanted. We could not have asked for a better night. The team was responsive and extraordinarily accommodating. Guests raved about the venue and the food! I would like to thank everyone on the Chelsea Piers team for making my wedding unforgettable.
When we began our search for our wedding venue, we knew we wanted something different, sophisticated and cozy, with an amazing view. The Sunset Terrace was perfect! The ice rink is a bit unconventional, but was an amazing "conversation piece" for our guests. The staff at Sky Rink were wonderful and the food was spectacular. Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful service and wonderful food, it doesn't get better than that. We would definitely recommend the Sunset Terrace as a wedding venue.
Chelsea Piers was a great place to hold a fundraising event. We had a large crowd, and Chelsea Piers was able to accommodate everyone comfortably. The venue had both an indoor and outdoor area, allowing for smooth traffic flow, and plenty of space for everyone. There was large bar area equipped with very friendly and competent bartenders who adeptly served the many twenty-somethings clamoring for alcohol at the event. There were tables and chairs as well as an open area for dancing and mingling. People could easily go out for fresh air and enjoy views of the water as well. The lighting was festive. No bright lights blinding people! I recommend Chelsea Piers for any group looking to host a social event or fundraiser!
