About Kilburn Event Center

The Kilburn Event Center is a historic waterfront wedding and events venue in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The newly renovated venue features spectacular views of Clark’s Cove, providing a truly memorable setting to say "I do." The Kilburn Event Center features a 20,000-square-foot indoor loft space that can accommodate wedding parties of up to 1,500 guests. Its rows of tall windows fill the space with natural light, which illuminates the polished wooden floors and original rustic support beams. With its white-washed walls, high ceilings, and scenic views, this space makes the ideal backdrop for an elegant wedding ceremony or reception. In addition, from spring 2020, the center’s gorgeous outdoor rooftop space, with unobstructed views of the ocean and the distant Elizabethan Islands, will be available for weddings. The center was built in 1910 and operated as a cotton mill, just one of many textile mills located in New Bedford. The textile industry in New Bedford grew quickly and brought in considerable wealth. Unfortunately, the industry declined just as quickly, leaving behind many grand structures. Today, many of these mills still sit unused and in disrepair. Kilburn Mill was one of these until its recent renovation. The Kilburn Event Center has created a beautiful industrial space that still celebrates its historic surroundings. It’s kept its original features, tall windows, wooden floors, reclaimed brick, and hand-hewn wooden beams.
