Recently my firm held a cocktail party to celebrate a recent merger that was accomplished. The venue used was the Madison Hotel, which is located in Morristown, New Jersey. What makes this venue perfect is the incredible close proximity to both major highways and most importantly the train station. NJ Transit's ""Convent Station"" station is directly behind the hotel. One needs to walk 300 feet from the station to the Hotel. Train service is offered daily and takes no more than one hour from New York's Penn Station. The hotel offers all sorts of amenities and services and can accommodate small groups of 10 all the way up groups of 250+. Multiple rooms are expandable. Even though there was about 50 of us, the room given was very intimate and no one felt stifled. There is an outdoor area with table and chairs that can be used during the warmer parts of the year. The outdoor area boast very comfortable furniture and spacious sitting area where cocktails could be served and a well kept garden. The staff is very helpful and the moment any problems arises, they fix it. The food served is also excellent. You can either have a buffet or have table menus. The table menu I might add is very diverse and meets all diet habits. They are extremely well priced and reasonable. I have also used the Hotel for private parties, in particular a family birthday party. There was about 24 of us and everything was done with precision. The part was planned with another relative in Georgia. With the great distance between New Jersey and Georgia, the staff made it seem like a seem less process and hassle free. All questions were answered without hesitation. If you are looking for the next place to hold any sort of function whether business or private, choose the Madison Hotel. You will not be disappointed.
