About YMCA of the North
Following Ruth Stricker’s passing, her family offered The Marsh as a gift to the Y in the summer of 2020 when the pandemic started. The pandemic brought extraordinary challenges, including changes in membership behavior and a significant reduction in Marsh membership. While we explored opportunities on how to support the community and operate The Marsh in a financially viable manner, our efforts were deeply affected by these changes.
Therefore, we have determined we need to close The Marsh and transition services and operations primarily to the Ridgedale Y, with additional wellbeing offerings at other Y locations. We look forward to supporting you with your participation in YMCA wellness programs and activities such as group exercise, swimming, fitness and ForeverWell.
We are excited to explore all opportunities and innovative ideas for this unique site.
