The most popular long stemmed roses are usually hybrid tea roses. These varieties of roses were originally born out of crossing perennial tea roses with the new hybrid perpetual roses. The crossing allowed long stemmed roses to acquire perfect traits of both the parent roses including a long sturdy stem, well-riser, well-flowering blooming top, and a dark red color on the stem.
