Good food, great cocktails and an intimate vibe come together to make Jar restaurant an excellent location for a wedding or special event. I organized and planned my best friend's wedding and held the reception/dinner at Jar in their restaurant. The group was fairly small (she had 100 guests, roughly, give or take a few kids) and the restaurant made for a cool, intimate vibe. It was absolutely fabulous! The food is kind of bistro mix - lots of juicy steak, pot roasts, delicious potatoes and muscles. They have pre fixe menus from $70 to $135 and the options are endlessly customizable. They were really, really good with doing additions and subtractions to the meals to accommodate every person's tastes. They allowed us to bring our own cake in and there was a small fee for cutting/serving but well worth it. The lounge area was perfect! Soft lighting, very stiff drinks! They specialize in a mid-century modern type of cocktail and I think that kind of describes the whole place. Very Mad Men like. The decor feels fresh and clean, masculine yet totally inviting. Seating was outstandingly comfortable and the decorations we wanted set up before hand were very easy to put up. The space is not sparse but it lends itself very well to pretty much any of taste without cold or too formal. My bride loves Mad Men and was instantly attracted to the vibe in Jar all by itself, so all we did was add some small, tasteful white floral centerpieces to the mix and the ambiance took care of everything else. Also, Stephen Friddle was a dream to work with! Very attentive.
