Formed in April, 2002 in Los Angeles, the Sam Graham Trio has worked hundreds of dates, from the basements of New York (the jazz lounge at NYC’s famed CBGB’s) to the hilltops of Los Angeles (the Getty Center), from the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas to the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara. In addition to those and other prominent venues (including the Los Angeles House of Blues), the band has performed at scores of nightclubs, restaurants, private parties, art openings, weddings, outdoor festivals, and other events and functions.

While the group draws on an extensive repertoire of vocal and instrumental jazz standards immortalized by Miles Davis, Nat "King" Cole, Wes Montgomery, Cannonball Adderley, and many more, they also play original music and explore their roots in pop and rock with innovative adaptations of songs by Nirvana, Metallica, the White Stripes, the Doors, Tom Petty, Neil Young, and others. All in all, it adds up to a singular style: Jazz for Moderns.
