Located in the Heart of Downtown Lemont’s historical district, just three doors down from the Metra Station, 223 Main boasts a storied origin. Initially built in the 1900s as a double storefront, it transformed throughout the century into a department store, political office, coffee shop, and now an event space. 223 Main is owned and operated by a local Lemont couple, Hector and Lauren Tamayo. Hector grew up in Lemont and always loved the downtown area. At the beginning of 2020, the coffee shop leasing the space decided to close down. While brainstorming what the building could be next, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit. Lauren and Hector decided to cancel their destination wedding and remodel 223 Main. After having their intimate wedding at the building, they decided to officially launch 223 Main. They’ve structured 223 Main as an affordable venue for all to enjoy. Pricing ranges based on the day and amount of time the space is rented. Hourly rates range from $125-$400/hr. You can choose a bar and food package, or opt to bring your own booze (BYOB) to save money! The process to book and host your event has been streamlined to make it extremely easy. After booking, you will received a detail email with a checklist and options to ensure all aspects of the event are taken care of. Each event includes a coordinator to work with you to design a custom floor plan, help recommend vendors and packages based on your budget and style and even assist with your timeline! 223 Main has won the Couples’ Choice Award from Wedding Wire and Best Of Weddings from The Knot for 2022 and 2023. 1,500 SQ FT INDOOR STREET-LEVEL SPACE – Wheelchair accessible, it has an open floor plan that includes two ADA compliant bathrooms, high 12 foot ceilings, large windows, small food prep area, and a coat/storage closet. 1,000 SQ FT OUTDOOR SIDE LOT – Towering trees, grass, and bushes, fill this space. It connects directly to the sidewalk where high top tables can be set up. The outdoor space is also wheelchair accessible and can have tents with heaters and other items added to it for your guests’ comfort. THE KITCHEN PREP AREA – features a double fridge with a prep counter, commercial coffee maker with coffee, hand sink, moveable grey bar, ice maker, microwave, and triple basin wash sink. In addition you have unlimited access to the Pepsi WunderBar that contains a variety of soft drinks and juices. THE BATHROOMS – two ADA compliant bathrooms are stocked with Febreze, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and trash bags with bins. In addition one bathroom features a baby changing station.
