Right from the start, Rev Ida-May was outstanding in providing us with several suggestions to help us put together our unique day. We wanted a very casual, surprise wedding, one that included the Celtic hand fasting tradition to honour my husband’s Scottish heritage. On hearing that, she was quick to suggest that we also incorporate a Quaich into our ceremony-something we had never heard of. We loved her idea, recognizing how it would set the perfect tone to the occasion. She also helped us find a fun way to include our soon-to-be-surprised adult children in the ceremony, knowing how important that was to us. Once the ceremony wording was completed, she regularly touched base with us to make sure our plans were coming together, and to see if she could help out in any way. On the day of the wedding, Ida-May was so discreet that none of our guests realized what our surprise was - until the very last second. And during our ceremony, she briefly explained the interesting history behind each Celtic tradition, so our guests could appreciate their significance. It was perfect. We received lots of compliments from our guests. Ida-May’s ability to guide us towards creating a day that was both personal and memorable was amazing. She was so helpful and patient, paying attention to every small detail during the planning process. And she was very professional yet friendly during her officiating. We highly recommend Ida-May. Rev. Ida-May was so wonderful on our wedding day. She made me feel so calm and ready for the ceremony. She arrived an hour early and got everyone ready to walk down the aisle.
