About Maxwell Mansion
Upscale bespoke historic mansion hotel, with period/antique furnishings, rustic-chic and barn-themed decor, updated technology, a speakeasy, cocktail bars and lounges, and ballroom, located in downtown Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Built in 1856, the Maxwell Mansion was the first mansion built in Lake Geneva and has long been host to dignitaries and socialites over its history and is now available for your historic event.
Comfortably accommodating up to 150 guests (as weather permits) throughout the mansion for receptions of all styles and magnitudes. The entire first floor of the mansion and perennial gardens with croquet lawn and fountain are designed to have your guests travel back in time to true Gilded Age Living. Ballroom can seat up to 40 people comfortably for intimate sit down dinner.
Upon entering the double doors guests are welcomed into an intimate foyer with chandeliers, a fire-lit receiving room is off to one side and crystal laden ballroom to the other. The 1880’s Apothecary Bar is adjoined by outdoor cabanas and wraparound deck leading to the front gardens. There is also an intimate lounge and marble breezeway connecting all the unique spaces.
