About Long Center for the Performing Arts

Today the facility is owned by the City of Lafayette and managed by Long Center Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3). The facility underwent a major renovation in 2000 and is slated for several upgrades over the next few years. In 1981 the theatre was included on the National Register of Historic Places.

Best Event Location - An Eventective User from Lafayette Indiana

For an event in the Lafayette area, you really can not beat what Lafayette Theatre has to offer. Lafayette Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Lafayette and is a historic and beautiful location for all sorts of events. I booked them for my drama class when I was in high school so that we could do a Dinner Theatre event. I have also been to wedding receptions and prom events at Lafayette Theatre as well. The staff is friendly and they are very punctual about scheduling a time to view the facility. I was able to have an appointment the same day to see the Theatre. The woman who showed me was very knowledgeable and prepared to answer every question I had. Every time I am in the theatre I am taken back by the architecture. Lafayette Theatre is such a classy location and could be used for an event of any sort. They offer huge projectors, sound systems, and a stage to anyone booking the event. These amenities are in great shape and work very well. They also have a bar that you can rent at an extra fee, that comes stocked with the alcohol of your choosing. For a wedding or reception they put your name on the marquee outside, so everyone in the downtown area can view it and they even roll out the rest carpet. They do not have a kitchen but allow you to book your own cater. They provide linens and around 73 tables for their guest. So whether you are looking to book a business event or wedding reception, to prom or holiday party Lafayette Theatre is the perfect location.
