My husband and I got married last month, and we planned to have a full dinner for our 150 wedding guests. We both remember attending various weddings through the years whose hosts scrimped on the food, and we knew we did not want that! When selecting the food, I did my homework. I asked several Houston venues who they use for catering, and Melange came up for two reasons: 1) great food and 2) reasonable prices. We decided to give Melange a try. When you call Melange to arrange this, they assign you a wedding coordinator who is in charge of taking care of all of the little details on the night of your wedding. This is one of the many reasons I loved them! They ask for a list of all of your other vendors such as your florist, cake baker, and DJ so that they can coordinate arrival at the venue. This service is included in the cost of the food, and I sure appreciate it! We went for a formal tasting of the food they offer about five months in advance of our wedding. I brought both of my parents to the tasting, and when we arrived, they seated us in a room set up with nice linens that we could select from for my wedding. They then started bringing in huge portions of everything from which we could select. The appetizers, many of which they offer to ""pass"" on trays as guests wait, the salads, entrees, and snacks were not only delicious, they were also beautifully presented. It was tough to make the final selection, only because everything was incredibly delicious. We finally narrowed it down and moved on to the next decisions. The table linens were difficult to choose, only because they have books and books of gorgeous tablecloth swatches, runners, tablecloth overlays, napkins, etc... They offered pictures of other weddings, and this helped me narrow it down. Our coordinator was extremely experienced, and she narrowed down our choice for us based on our budget, the time of the wedding (night), and my color scheme. The night of our wedding, our wedding coordinator took care of everything. She made sure everything was laid out exactly as I had described to her. In retrospect, I didn't need to worry about a single detail! The tables all looked beautiful, and we had guests going back for seconds. I highly recommend Melange Catering for your wedding! They will take care of you, and you won't have to life a finger!
