Both the Asa Whiting House and Barn are available for weddings, private parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, anniversary celebrations, reunions, business functions, or other events. Set in a small New England town, our historic House and Barn are fine examples of life in the mid-1800s. Built in 1812, the House was originally sited closer to Washington Street and was moved to its present site in the early 1930s. It has been redecorated with period wallpapers. Furniture is typical for the time and accents the front parlor and formal dining room. The large meeting room is used for both formal and informal functions. The seating capacity of the House is 60 people and includes the use of the entire first floor (meeting room, parlor, dining room, and kitchen) as well as the two side porches. (The kitchen is licensed only for the serving of off-premise prepared foods, not meal production) The Barn, built in 1817, was restored in the 1970s. At that time, a full kitchen and lavatories were added at the back. The capacity of the Barn is 100 people and includes use of the barn kitchen, side yard, and garden.
