About The Highgate Manor, LLC
The historic Highgate Manor was originally built in 1818 and since that time has been a fixture for the local community for over 2 centuries. The "Manor" has ties to various historical events such as serving as a stop for the underground railroad during the civil war and the tunnels on the property being used by Al Capone to move liquor across the Canadian border during prohibition days.
The ballroom was recently renovated to include installation of a new, full bar. Other amenities that were added are heating and air conditioning, the establishment of wireless internet, and installation of a new blue tooth audio visual system with wireless microphone, projector and screen. The ballroom and facilities also provide 3 indoor restrooms, including one that is fully ADA compliant, a caterer’s kitchen with a walk-in cooler, and the most beautiful antique chandelier you can imagine accented by 2 additional chandeliers. Cooking food is not allowed on site; however, you can use warming devices, such as sternos and electric warmers, for the food you bring in. Additionally, we can also provide a couple of caterer suggestions that have catered for events in the past as well as contact information for two bartending services you may consider for serving alcohol for your special event if you would like.
