Hallet Oak Gallery opened in June 2015 in the Kahn & Stanzel building
in downtown Hallettsville. Designed and built by James Riely Gordon
(1863-1937), the building reflects several architectural styles
including Italianate, Neo-Grec, and Romanesque Revival. Ninety-one
feet long with soaring 13 foot ceilings, it has cast iron thresholds
stamped "Kahn & Stanzel" throughout. Colorful traditional and
contemporary works by local as well as international artists grace the
walls.
With a beautifully upgraded rest room downstairs and additional space
and rest room upstairs, it offers a comfortable space for almost any
gathering. The venue is light and airy during the day and exudes a
soft glow from antique street lamps at night. It's large windows open
onto the recently restored Lavaca County Courthouse. To reserve the
building for your meeting, banquet, or other event, please visit our website.
