The North Magazine is the most modern facility at the Halifax Citadel. The facility is a converted gunpowder magazine that is equipped with indoor washroom facilities and small passenger elevator. The newly renovated building is often used for meeting spaces, dinners, and small receptions.
Rental fees start at $650.00 + HST and we provide the setting, washrooms, parking, security, WIFI and an on site coordinator to assist you with site arrangements, set up, tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, dishware and flatware, as well as catering.
The Garrison Room is a banquet room in the North Magazine. With a seated capacity of 63 people and 80 people standing, this room is ideal for small dinners or large meetings. We can have the room set up with round or rectangle tables, in a U-shape or with theater style seating.
The Naval Room is a smaller meeting room that can seat up to 15 people around a large boardroom table. Both the Garrison Room and Naval Room are equipped with projection screens and projectors are available for rent for $25.00 + HST. The Artillery Room is a small room with seating for up to 8 people and makes a perfect break off room for meetings.

The Northfront Casemates are four historic barracks rooms that are used for a variety of different events including receptions, dinners, networking, weddings, and meetings. We provide the setting, washrooms, parking, security and a dedicated coordinator to assist you with site arrangements, set up, tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, dishware and flatware, as well as catering.
The Northfront Casemates provide a space that you can make your own; the rooms can be easily decorated and offer a perfect atmosphere for any event. The three largest rooms have a capacity to hold 60 people seated or 80 people standing. For a guest list over 150 people the use of all four casemates is required.

Our Soldiers' Library is a small, intimate space for smaller events. As this space is used for daily operations between May and October, events can begin 1 hour after the site closes. Between November and April events can begin at any time and is a popular choice for holiday parties. The rental fees for the Soldiers' Library and Coffee Bar start at $750.00 + HST for the evening. We provide the setting, washrooms, parking, security and a dedicated specialist to assist you with site arrangements, set up, tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, dishware and flatware, as well as catering.
The Soldiers' Library is perfect for a small seated dinner for up to 36 people. Our Coffee Bar is ideal for a slightly larger reception as both rooms have standing room for 72 people. A nice open room with an equipped bar makes a great reception space. The beautiful wood floors, historic pictures and antique tables and chairs make for fantastic photos while you and your guests dance the night away. The room is beautiful and does not need much for decorations so set up is a breeze. Give your wedding some historic flare in this great space.
