Your security deposit is in addition to the cost of the room, and is to be paid when your Rental Application is approved. Payment of the security deposit guarantees your reservation. Residents: $50 Non-Residents: $100 To receive resident rates, you must live within the boundaries of the Park District. Residents reside in the sub-divisions of Grandwood Park in Gurnee, The Shires in Lake Villa, and the Grand Oaks Apartment Complex. You will be required to show proof of residency if you apply for resident rates. Security deposit refunds will be issued within two weeks from your rental date. If any of the conditions of your Rental Contract are not followed, deductions will be made from your deposit.

Application paperwork must be filled out in full, and full security deposit must be paid to have your application processed. Application paperwork must be turned in to the park district office in-person. Applications are processed on a first-come first-served basis, and not guaranteed until the security deposit is paid in full. To guarantee a date after talking to the office to confirm availability and setting an appointment to come in with the paperwork, you can choose to pay your security deposit on-line immediately. This will guarantee your date for 5 business days. You must come into the office to complete the processing of your application within 5 business days, or your security deposit will be returned and your date will no longer be guaranteed. Submitting an application without a paid security deposit is not a confirmation of the rental or guarantee of the date. Cancellations must be made in writing from the renter listed on the application 60 days prior to the rental date in order to receive a refund of all rental fees paid, less a $50 service charge. If notification is made less than 60 days prior to the rental date, a refund of rental fees paid, less a $75 processing fee will be issued. If the General Liquor Liability Policy has already been purchased when rental is cancelled, this amount will not be refunded.
