Uptown Theater underwent a $5 million renovation by the City of Grand Prairie in 2007 that preserved its retro charm and added modern touches to bring the venue into the twenty-first century. After receiving a $5 million restoration and rehabilitation, the building’s Art Deco design makes this facility the perfect venue for a unique event. The Uptown Theater provides visitors and patrons a rare opportunity to experience performing and visual arts from throughout the United States. The large stage is appropriate for music, dance, drama, and film. The 402 seats feature 8 loveseats similar to those in the original 1950 construction. The stage features light and scenery grids, a scrim, and an automated movie screen with digital projection and Dolby surround sound. The theatre also has a comfortable green room and four spacious dressing rooms.

This space also features a mirrored wall for dance recitals or rehearsals. When added to the rental of Uptown Theater's Main Stage and Gallery, this space serves as a great room for dancing!
