About Garey House

The Texas Hill Country meets Tuscan style at Garey House, a wedding and special events venue. Located 23 miles north of downtown Austin in Georgetown, TX, Garey House is set within Garey Park, a 525-acre public park nestled along the San Gabriel River. The venue is named for Jack and Cammy Garey, who donated their private ranch to the City of Georgetown in 2004. The Garey’s estate was renovated to host intimate indoor functions, along with larger outdoor events, while preserving much of the property’s original sophistication. Garey House features unique ceremony and reception locations, a spacious patio, landscaped grounds and a lush event lawn that overlooks the pond. The Great Room offers an intimate indoor option, complete with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace and doors that open to the patio. The Hall opens up to the Courtyard, allowing for flexible indoor and outdoor events. The Terrace and Event Lawn offer a picturesque backdrop for a ceremony or a reception. Garey House has approximately 2,000 square feet of combined indoor event space, best suited for 50-80 guests. The property includes nearly 7,500 square feet of combined outdoor event space, perfect for larger events with up to 125 guests.

The Terrace is our most popular outdoor ceremony space and can also be used for an outdoor dance floor. Couples can choose to be married in front of the pergola (stone pillars + wood beams) or with the pond as their backdrop. This space can be tented in the case of rain or inclement weather! The Terrace can also be used for an outdoor cocktail hour or more intimate reception.

The Courtyard is a large 2,550 sq. ft. outdoor patio located off of the Hall. The Courtyard accommodates up to 125 guests for an outdoor seated reception and the 3 sets of windowed French doors can be opened to combine the space with the Hall. The Courtyard is also commonly used for an outdoor cocktail hour or dance floor. The stained concrete patio makes for a great dance floor, beneath the festoon lighting.

The Hall features 3 large windowed French doors that allow for tons of natural light, or mixed indoor/outdoor use combined with the Courtyard. The Hall is also commonly used for an indoor buffet/bar, with outdoor reception tables, or an indoor dance floor in the case of rain or inclement weather.

The Great Room is our largest indoor space. It accommodates 80 guests comfortably, and up to 106 guests at max capacity for an indoor seated reception (buffet + dance floor in secondary location). Guests can be seated for mixed indoor/outdoor use by having some tables set inside the Great Room, with additional tables just outside the doors on the back patio. The Great Room can also be used for an indoor ceremony option in the case of rain or inclement weather. Guests may stay seated at their reception tables, or rows of chairs can be set for a more traditional ceremony layout.
