I needed to purchase a last minute corsage for my son to attend the Eastside High School prom with a close friend of his. They has previously been friends through her brother Justin but they considered each other friends more than boyfriend/girlfriend. The boy that had asked her to go to the dance dumped her at the last minute because he made a big deal about her accusing him of making out with another girl at the football game the weekend before. They reconciled a few days later and everything was on again until he was suspended for ten days from school for fighting and his parents grounded him for two weeks. My son just happened to be visiting his friend when he overheard her on the cell phone explaning her situation to one of her friends. He asked her about other mutual friends she might consider. She had objections about their looks, weight, car and/or they were kind of creepy. He told her to keep looking and something would come up or she could go with her girlfriends and have just as good a time. My son didn't think anything of it for a few days until his friend Justin called asking him to please do him a favor by taking his little sister to the prom. He told his friend that it was kind of uncofortable because he thought of her as just a friend but he agreed to take her. He had a suit, tie and shoes to wear but no corsage for his date. He asked me if I could buy a corsage for her and he would pay me back next week. It was the day before the prom but Gainesville Florist said they could make it up within 20 minutes. They did a great job! I will be using their service in the future.
