I recently attended an energy conference at Nemacolin Woodlands Hotel and Resort in Farmington, PA. The overall experience was first class in every aspect. The resort setting is beautiful. The conference center is tucked into the Appalachian Mountains in Southern Pennsylvania and the lush forest surrounding is full of color in the fall. The resort itself was founded by Mr. Joe Hardy, who founded the Eighty-Four Lumber Company. Mr. Hardy has spared no expense in creating a five star hotel and resort. The decor within the hotel would remind you of an upscale English manor estate. Expensive paintings line the walls and there are many bronze sculptures that hide in the courtyard. The hotel staff is very friendly and service oriented. They will go above and beyond any task requested by a guest. It seems their goal is to create a catered experience that makes you want to return. The energy conference that I attended utilized the extravagant ball room and meeting area, as well as their own theater seated lecture hall. The conference I attended also had a golf outing on the five start PGA golf course Mystic Rock at the resort. This course has hosted PGA Tour events and is one of the finest courses in Pennsylvania. The Mystic Rock Course is a challenging play; however there is a second course at the resort called the Links Course that is a more forgiving layout. If you are looking for a five star meeting venue or corporate retreat, then you will not be disappointed with Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. This venue is top notch in customer service and luxury. I would recommend this resort to anyone, from the corporate conference, to the weekend getaway.
For the past several years, I have had the pleasure of organizing my company's annual retreat at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. I cannot speak highly enough of Nemacolin as a venue for events. First and foremost - the staff. These people are the most accommodating, respectful, pleasant people in the business. The team works with you from the very beginning of planning through to the very final event at the conference. If you need help with logistics - they will help. If you simply want to hand them a list of ""needs"" - they will make it work. You need not worry about a think when you're conference is at Nemacolin. Secondly - the physical venue. Nemacolin is pristine! There are several options for meeting rooms from a large auditorium, to a grand ballroom so several sessions for break-outs. Our event generally holds about 300 people and Nemacolin works great for us. Also, the hotel section of the resort is very easily accessible to the meeting. The food, the activities, the ease - this is a great place for an event. That's why we always go back!
Our law firm held its mid-year retreat at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort with great success. The Resort is located in rural Farmington, PA, easily accessible from Pittsburgh, Washington and Baltimore. Rated 4 Diamonds by AAA, the Resort is nestled in the Allegheny Mountains on 2,000 acres. We found the conference facilities to have everything we needed. There are two boardrooms, 25 meeting rooms, and a lecture hall that seats 200. The facility had all of the audio-visual equipment we required, along with technicians to operate it or troubleshoot if necessary. There are a number of outdoors on-property sites for receptions. If your conference typically has some sort of banquet, there are facilities there for as many as 700. Once the meetings are done, Nemacolin has a wide variety of things to do: excellent, award-winning cuisine, a championship golf course, a swimming pool with swim-up bar, skeet shooting, and a spa. The rooms are spacious and luxurious.
Wooflands Pet Resort & Spa, adjacent to Nemacolin Resort & Spa in Farmington, Pa, has truly refined the art of canine hospitality. Genuinely warm and engaging service combined with highly exacting standards puts this premier facility in a class of its own. Looking at its decor and architecture (Nemacolin Chateau, canine style), its well maintained and fun-furnished play areas, its fresh air returns and climate controlled environment, its expertise in the social and physical neeeds of its guests, I felt like I could stay there myself. Mojo, my 4 year old schnoodle, thinks he is a mixed breed of poodle, schnauzer, and human. He is my 2nd best friend and accustomed to following me around much of the day. His 1st stay was for 11 days and I worried about him daily. When I picked him up he was totally engaged with the staff and 2 other dogs. After 5 minutes or so of excitedly rebonding with me, I became incidental as he happily returned to his new friends. It was quite obvious I was the one who had suffered the separation anxiety, and I was on vacation in Spain. Since then he has returned for three shorter stays and several daycare visits. He obviously LOVES his time there and eagerly runs from the car to the front door. Once in, he scampers to anxiously greet the receptionist and all visible staff. It is so apparent the entire staff is attuned to his personality and his idiosyncrasies and that he looks forward to being there. At Wooflands he also receives exceptionally expertise grooming, show dog quality. In summation, Wooflands is the best overall experience your dog (or cat) can have. And if you can't trust my opinion, just have your dog call my dog.
