Jackie Jae & Jason Cowsill are one of Oregon’s fastest rising musical acts. Featuring beautifully blended harmonies, this acoustic duo is the perfect entertainment choice for any event. From wine tastings to wedding receptions, private parties to public pubs, the audience’s enjoyment is their top priority. By carefully monitoring their volume and adapting their song selections to suit the audience, Jackie & Jason ensure everyone has a great time, allowing people to enjoy the music and still carry on a conversation… if they want. It is not uncommon for conversations to come to a halt as people listen intently, sing along to a particular favorite, or jump up to dance.
With a single guitar and their two voices, Jackie & Jason provide the energy and repertoire of a full band, while still maintaining the intimacy and personal connection of a smaller act. Their extraordinary vocal ranges allow them to perform a wide variety of music. Emulating the smooth, high melodies of artists like Annie Lennox and Sting as well as the rich, lower registers of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, these two can cover just about any song imaginable. They revive old favorites in fresh new ways, interpret modern hits with acoustic arrangements and their signature harmonies, and spice it all with an ever expanding collection of self-penned songs.
Jason’s uncanny ability to replicate other instruments with a single guitar is another reason these two are a crowd favorite. As he strums sometimes incredibly complex rhythms, you’ll also see him plucking out bass lines, slapping percussion parts on the body — you may even catch him slipping a playing card between the strings for a snare drum effect. They both use their voices creatively as well, filling out the arrangements to the point no other instruments are necessary.
In an effort to always keep their show new and exciting, they have introduced “Covered In Vinyl”, a concept originated by Jason’s aunt, Susan Cowsill, and the Susan Cowsill Band. Each month they dedicate their second set to covering an entire album first song to last (reminiscent of the days when music was published on vinyl LP’s and people listened to all the songs in order). New audiences are drawn to hear the albums they love, undoubtedly becoming loyal fans who return again and again.
